dr babak larianBabak Larian, MD, is the Director of the Center for Advanced Head & Neck Oncology. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Prior to creating the Center for Advanced Head & Neck Oncology he was a founding member of the Cedars-Sinai Head & Neck Cancer Center and continues to be actively involved in running it.

He received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, where he was recognized for academic and humanitarian distinction. He completed a residency in head and neck surgery at UCLA Medical Center. He is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Head and Neck Society.

Dr. Larian has extensive experience in treatment of all head and neck cancers, including complex advanced tumors, skull base tumors and recurrent cancers. He has considerable expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches, image-guided surgery, as well as endoscopic laser surgery. The treatment options considered by him and his team of experts takes into account all of the patients individual characteristics, while optimizing function (speech, swallowing, facial movement, etc.) and appearance, and the best possible outcome.

He has published in numerous scientific journals, and offers presentations at professional symposia and academic meetings, nationally and internationally. Dr. Larian continues to be involved educational endeavors and has a keen interest in innovative techniques and treatment modalities that offer his patients the greatest outcomes while minimizing risk and morbidity.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Larian has been involved in several humanitarian causes. He travels with a number of different organizations to developing countries to treat children and adults with complex head and neck disorders.

dr william  slatteryWilliam H. Slattery III, M.D., works in private practice at the House Clinic in Los Angeles, California.  He is also Director of the Clinical Studies Department at the House Ear Institute (HEI) and he serves as Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Southern California.
 
Dr. Slattery received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Following an otolaryngology residency at the University of Florida, he completed a fellowship in neurotology/skull base surgery at the House Clinic. Dr. Slattery is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
 
Dr. Slattery’s research interests include treatment of acoustic neuromas, Neurofibromatosis Type-II, implantable hearing devices, and facial nerve disorders.He has received multiple research grants including his current multi million-dollar grant to study acoustic neuromas and Neurofibromatosis.  His Clinical Research Department at HEI is the largest research department in the world dedicated solely to clinical evaluation of hearing disorders.
 
Dr. Slattery is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.  He is an author and co-author of numerous papers on the subjects of hearing disorders.  He is the otology/skull base section editor for the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Journal, which is the preeminent journal for otolaryngologists, and the histopathology section editor for the peer-reviewed Otology & NeurotologyHe has been quoted in multiple lay publications including Business Week, Prevention Magazine Newsweek, and the Los Angeles Times and has been featured on television programs including the Discovery Health Channel.

dr babak azizzadehDr. Babak Azizzadeh is the Director of The Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgery at the Center, and an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Azizzadeh is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. His expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery has made him one of the most sought-after surgeons in the country. He has been featured in Oprah Winfrey Show, The New York Times, Discovery Health, and numerous other media for his expertise in facial plastic surgery.

Actively engaged in clinical and basic science research, Dr. Azizzadeh has participated in various research studies at Harvard Medical School and UCLA. He is the author of the foremost plastic surgery textbook Master Techniques in Facial Rejuvenation and is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences. He has also published numerous articles in such peer-reviewed journals as Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery. After earning bachelor and medical degrees at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Dr. Azizzadeh received general surgery training and head and neck surgery/facial plastic surgery at that institution. At Harvard Medical School, he completed training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

In addition to his busy surgical practice, Dr. Azizzadeh has also been actively involved in several humanitarian causes such as the Medical Missions for Children (MMFC). As the Director of West Coast Operations, Dr. Azizzadeh travels with MMFC to third-world countries to treat children with cleft lip and palate disorders. He is also actively involved with the Reconstructive Surgery Program of the R.O.S.E. Fund (Regaining One’s Self-esteem) where he provides free plastic and reconstructive surgery to women and children who are survivors of domestic violence.
